You will receive more in your pocket every year.

The additional amount of retirement income you will receive depends on your date of hire, years of service, and last three years of salary.
The improved benefit takes effect July 1, 2006, and applies to all active members of the teachers’ and state employees’ pension systems on or after that date.
For members of participating governmental units: Your local participating agency has one year to accept the enhanced benefit, although if approved, your benefit will be retroactive to July 1, 2006.
