Going Green!

Programs promote environmentally sound in-school practices students can feel good about!

Colleen Sedora, special education teacher at Pasadena ES, reports:

I started a green club this year, we've named ourselves The 3 R's and have created a mascot by reusing items.

R.O.B. (Recycle Our Bottles) is the eco-mascot at Pasadena ES in Anne Arundel County.

R.O.B. (recycle our bottles) is used as a reward to indicate the class who recycled the most paper on our “Magazine Monday” drive, we determined the winner by weighing each classes contribution. We are also increasing awareness about recycling by making public service announcements during lunch that focus on ways students can help to be more environmentally friendly.

We are also recycling throughout the building including during lunch and breakfast.

Pasadena teachers and students are working together to not only make our school a greener place, we are also working to make our community greener through awareness and encouraging community members to recycle.
